I am interested in volunteering as ArLiSNAP’s Student Group Liaison!

I received an MA in History of Art and Architecture in 2011 from NYU Institute of Fine Arts, where I worked at the Institute’s Library of Fine Arts, followed by a stint in volunteer management for an arts education nonprofit in New York City. I am currently volunteering/interning in licensing and visual resources at the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, and am starting the MLIS program at the University of Pittsburgh at the end of August. While in school, I will be interning at the university’s Frick Fine Arts Library and hope to hold a leadership position in one of our student groups.

I was highly involved in student groups as an undergrad, serving as the President of two academic clubs and the secretary of our chapter of a national honor society. I was responsible not only for member recruitment, programming, and financial accountability, but also for regularly reporting on our social activities and community service to university and national oversight.

I would love to identify interested student groups, reach out to them, report on their activities and achievements, and facilitate discussion about successes and challenges for student organizations and their members. Please just let me know if I can provide any further information!

  2. Hi there!

I am interested in the Discussion Liaison position. I am a new member of ARLIS and ARLIS/ TX-MX and a MLIS student at UNT, Denton. I have a background in fine arts with BA and MA degrees in Art History. After a a number of years in various positions in museums, libraries, and higher education, I have decided that my true calling is art librarianship! I currently work in the Crouch Fine Arts Library at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

One of my favorite aspects of the job is discussion! Talking to the student workers, patrons, library staff and librarians about basically anything library-related or otherwise makes my job fun and interesting. I would like to make connections with others in the field by initiating conversations around current topics in the field as I am learning about them myself both theoretically and practically.
