Hello out there! My name is Dana Statton and I am currently pursuing my MLIS at Louisiana State University. I’ve come to libraries in a fairly round about way (it seems like most of us do), and also have my Masters in Art History as well as my Masters of Fine Art in Photography. I’ve spent most of my time in museums, having worked at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery as a Graduate Intern in the Photography Department as well as having worked at the more local LSU Museum of Art as a Curatorial Assistant.
I currently work in the Special Collections library at LSU as a graduate student in the Manuscripts processing department and am loving it. My day to day activities consist of processing archival collections that deal mainly with Louisiana history or persons. My professional interests lie in Archives, Rare Books, and Art Librarianship. As a new Feature Post Writer, I look forward to talking with all you fellow ArLiSNAP-ers and more than welcome any comments or topics you would like to see addressed.
